Lord God Almighty, You appointed Saint Michael the Archangel to be the glorious Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, the defender of Your Church, and the faithful protector of Your people. Through his steadfast obedience and unwavering love for You, he cast down the powers of darkness and proclaimed forever, "Who is like God?"

As we gather in this chapel dedicated to his honour, strengthen us with Your grace. Clothe us with the armour of faith, protect us from every evil, and help us to remain steadfast in our love for Jesus Christ.

May Saint Michael watch over us, defend us in every spiritual battle, and lead us safely into Your heavenly Kingdom.

Revelation 12:7–9

"Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was hurled to the earth, and all his angels with him."

Reflection

Saint Michael the Archangel is the great defender of God's glory, and the faithful protector of the people of God. At the beginning of creation, when pride entered the hearts of the fallen angels, Michael remained perfectly faithful to God. His cry, "Who is like God?", became the everlasting proclamation of humility, truth and obedience.

Throughout the history of the Church, Christians have called upon Saint Michael for protection against temptation, danger and the powers of evil. His ancient sanctuary on Monte Sant'Angelo has welcomed countless pilgrims seeking God's strength and peace.

Saint Michael reminds us that every Christian is called to stand courageously for truth, to resist sin, and to place complete trust in the victory of Jesus Christ. Through prayer, the Sacraments and faithful obedience, we too may overcome every spiritual battle by the grace of God.

Saint Michael, faithful guardian of God's people, intercede for our families and communities.

Protect our homes from division, fear and hatred. Inspire us to live in charity, humility and forgiveness. Watch over our children, strengthen parents in wisdom, and encourage young people to follow Christ with generous hearts.

Pray for our Church, our nations and all who work for justice and peace. May we remain faithful to the gospel, and become courageous witnesses to the truth.

Lead many souls to the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.
