PRAYER CHAPEL OF REMEMBRANCE FOR OUR DEAR DEPARTED FAMILIES AND FRIENDS

Prayer Chapel of Remembrance

For our dear departed family members and friends

A sanctuary of love, gratitude and hope

In Loving Memory of those who have gone before us

Entrance Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We enter this Chapel of Remembrance with grateful hearts, bringing before You the memory of our beloved family members and friends who have departed this earthly life. We thank You for the gift of their presence in our lives, and for the love they shared. We thank you for the kindness they bestowed, and the memories they left behind. We thank you for the countless ways in which they enriched our earthly journey.

May this sacred time of remembrance become a prayer of love, and a gesture of thanksgiving. May our time of remembrance be an offering of hope. May those who have gone before us rest in Your eternal Embrace, where sorrow is no more, and every tear is wiped away.

Scripture Reading

“I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.”   - John 11:25

Prayer of Remembrance

Lord Jesus Christ,

You conquered death and opened the gates of eternal life. We entrust to Your merciful Heart all our dear departed family members and friends.

Remember those who have shared our homes, and walked beside us. Remember those who have encouraged us, and prayed with us. Remember those who have loved us. Remember those whose voices we can no longer hear, and whose hands we can no longer hold, but whose love remains engraved upon our hearts.

For those who died peacefully, grant eternal rest.

For those who suffered, grant everlasting consolation.
For those who departed unexpectedly, receive them into Your Merciful Embrace.
For those who died alone, surround them with Your heavenly Love.
For those whose lives were forgotten by the world, remember them in Your infinite Mercy.

May the Light of Christ shine upon them, and may perpetual light illuminate their eternal dwelling.

Prayer for the Gift of Eternal Rest

Eternal Father,
We commend our beloved departed to Your infinite Goodness. Welcome them into the joy of Your heavenly Kingdom.

May they behold the Face of Christ, and  rejoice in the company of the angels and saints. May they experience the fullness of Your everlasting Love.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Prayer for Those Who Remain

Loving Father,

Comfort all those who mourn the loss of someone dear. When memories bring tears, let gratitude bring consolation. When loneliness enters our hearts, remind us that love remains forever. When we long for those who have departed, strengthen our hope in the resurrection.

Help us to cherish the goodness they left behind, and to continue the virtues they taught us. Help us to honour their memory through lives of kindness, compassion and faith.

May we never forget that our earthly separation is not the final word, for in Christ there is the knowledge that we will meet again.

Prayer to Our Blessed Mother Mary

Our Blessed Mother,

You stood beneath the Cross and knew the sorrow of a mother's heart. We ask you to accompany all who grieve and to intercede for our beloved departed.

Gather them beneath your maternal mantle, and lead them to the Loving Heart of your Son. Be our comfort in times of sorrow and our hope in the promise of eternal life.

Our Offering of Remembrance

We offer:

  • A candle, representing the eternal light of Christ

  • A flower, symbolising the beauty of a life remembered

  • A prayer, expressing our continuing love

  • A moment of silence, honouring the precious memories we hold

  • A rosary, entrusting our departed to the maternal intercession of Mary.

Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father,

May this Chapel of Remembrance remain a sanctuary of love, where memories become prayers, and sorrow is transformed by hope.

May our dear departed families and friends be welcomed into the communion of saints, where there is no more suffering, separation or death. There is only the everlasting joy of Your Presence.

Until we meet again in Your heavenly Kingdom, may their memories blossom in our hearts like flowers in an eternal garden.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

In loving remembrance, until we meet again in God's heavenly garden.
