          CHRISTMAS CHURCH SERVICE

If you are unable to attend a Church Service, why not follow the service below in prayer and make spiritual communion with Our Lord Jesus Christ? Perhaps you have been working in essential services, are caregiver at home or ill in bed. Perhaps you have been unable to attend a church service to offer worship, due to circumstances beyond your control.

All of your intentions have been held before the Lord.

The Christmas Church Service:

Priest: "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."

Congregation: "Amen."

Priest: "The Lord Jesus was born in  Bethlehem:

Angels rejoice and shepherds stand amazed. Alleluia!"

CONFESSION

Priest: "Christ has come to set us free from sin.

Let us turn to Him to ask for purity of heart. May the Light of the Redeemer Christ shine within our lives.

Lord, have mercy."

Congregation: "Lord, have mercy."

Priest: "Christ, have mercy."

Congregation: "Christ, have mercy."

Priest: "Lord, have mercy."

Congregation: "Lord, have mercy."

Priest: "May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life."

Congregation: "Amen."

READING:

Priest: "A reading from the gospel of St Luke, chapter 2, verses 1 to 16.

"In those days, Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria). Everyone went to their own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee in Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and town of David.

"He went there to register with Mary, his espoused wife, who was expecting a Child. While they were there, the time came for the Baby to be born, and she gave birth to her Firstborn, a Son.

"She wrapped Him in cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. There were shepherds living out in the field nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.

"An Angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the Glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the Angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring great news that will bring great joy to all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you. He will be wrapped in cloths, and laid in a manger."

"Suddenly a great company of the Heavenly Host appeared with the Angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the Highest Heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His Favour rests."

"When the Angels had left them and gone into Heaven, the shepherds said to one another: "Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

"So they turned off and found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in the manger.

"This is the Word of the Lord."

Congregation: "Thanks be to God."

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT:

Priest: "A Child of peace and redemption has been born to us, just as the prophets of old promised. Jesus Christ has come to illumine our earth with His Divinity, Beauty, Wisdom, Forgiveness and Majesty.

"Yet the Emperor of all dominions within the universe allowed Himself to be born as a tiny Child, developed in true human fashion within the womb of His Mother Mary.

"We turn today to this King of our hearts and lives, and entrust to Him all that has been lost during the pandemic. We thank God for the emerging natural immunity which is a miracle of grace to our world.

"We thank God that three great waves of the Covid-19 are over, and that the Omicron wave appears to be less virulent in nature. We pray that the bowl of pestilence - with which the world has recently struggled - be removed from our earth.

"We pray for wisdom for governments and bodies of authority as they seek to assist their peoples. We ask that gentleness, understanding and tolerance be exercised by all towards all. We trust that none will judge another for personal conscience-driven decision.

"All are suffering. All are in fear. Yet what are we afraid of?  God, the holder of the arches of Heaven and globe of earth is in full control. Never doubt that this is so. At this Christmas time, turn to the God of all and TRUST IN HIM.

"Each of us is destined to return the cloak of our body to the earth from whence it came, until the great day of Resurrection. Yet our spirit, our soul will return to the Throne of the Great God from whence we came.

"So why do we fear death? It is only a passing over into the true life, the eternal life which will last for ever.

"Trust in God. The sum of our days - whether short or long - are utterly safe in His loving and gentle Hands.

"Live well, pray well, trust totally and live each day as if it is your last.

"One day will indeed be our last day, after which we will stand at the Judgement Seat of God.

Abandon fear and look forward to the day when all suffering, illness, fear and death will be no more.

"Each of us is destined one day to stand rejoicing around the Table of the Holy Lamb in Heaven. Saints at last!"

BREAKING OF BREAD:

Priest: "Almighty God, You sent Your only Son to our world because You loved us so much. We praise You, Father, that on the night before He gave His Life, our Lord Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying: "Take, eat, this is My Body which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me."

Congregation: "Lord Jesus, You are the Bread of Life,"

Priest: "After the same manner, He took the cup, gave thanks and gave it to them, saying: "Take this, all of you, and drink, for this is My Blood: the Blood of the New Covenant which is poured out for you and for all for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of Me."

Congregation: "Lord Jesus, You are the Cup of Life, the wine that is blessed for our salvation."

(Here spiritually partake of the Body and Blood of Christ within in the Eucharist. Be assured He has come to you.)

Spend some time in silent prayer.

THE LORD'S PRAYER:

Priest and congregation: "Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever, Amen."

BLESSING:

Priest: "Holy Jesus, by being born us of us,

and humbly lying in a manger,

You show how much God loves the world.

Let the light of Your Love always shine in our hearts,

until we reach our home in heaven,

and see you on Your Throne of Glory.

Amen."

FINAL HYMN: SILENT NIGHT

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Saviour is born!
Christ the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night!
Son of God love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A
BLESSED NEW YEAR!

PASTORAL CARE - HELP OTHERS TO BEGIN THE ROAD TO INNER HEALING

Conversation or dialogue can be very healing. Have you ever been anxious and in a quandery; worrying what to do? Along comes a person who says exactly the right words with an expression and attitude of warmth and concern, and all of a sudden we feel better; able to face life's challenges. This is pastoral work taking place by means of conversation or dialogue.

As we become more experienced in helping others as priests, we become more competent - professional even. Pastoral work does have a professional dimension, which includes formal instruction. A qualification in Clinical Pastoral Counselling can be a great help to a priest; or an accredited training in chaplaincy.

However, it is important to remember that we must keep a humble and true heart with a listening ear. A good qualification is of great assistance in giving pastoral care to those in need.

The kind heart and the gentle manner accompanying the assistance is what really touches people, and helps them to begin the road to inner healing.

Pastoral Care

WHEN WE ARE IN DIFFICULTY, SPEAK TO SOMEONE WITH LIFE EXPERIENCE AND WISDOM

When we are in difficulty, it is a great comfort to speak to someone with life experience and wisdom. They've been through stormy winds in life, and have learned to navigate the gale.

People often take their troubles to ministers as they look for healing from their heartaches and difficulties. Often people are not looking for professional help; they need someone who is willing to listen with care.

YOUR BEAUTY SHOULD CONSIST OF YOUR TRUE INNER SELF

"Instead, your beauty should consist of your true inner self, the ageless beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of the greatest value in God's sight."

1 Peter 3:4

BE HOLY

"Be holy, because I am holy."

1 Peter 1:16

FOR THOSE WHO PERSECUTE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS

For those who persecute our brothers and sisters in God and strive to extinguish their faith: may the Almighty open their hearts to love. We pray to the Lord: Lord, hear us.

FOR THOSE WHO WOULD RATHER GO TO WAR

For those who would rather go to war than compromsie their personal interests: may God open their hearts to peace. We pray to the Lord: Lord, hear us.

FOR THOSE WHO POLLUTE OUR AIR AND WATER

For those who pollute our air and water with no thought but their own profit or enjoyment: may God open their hearts to concern for others. We pray to the Lord.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GROWN BITTER

For those who have grown bitter over the weaknesses of others: may God open their hearts to hope and pray for goodness to manifest in all humanity. We pray to the Lord: Lord, hear us.

FATHER, WE GATHER TO OUR HEARTS

Father, we gather to our hearts all who have wronged us and all who make our lives difficult, whether consciously or not. You have told us that only by forgiving are we forgiven. Help us grow in the ability to forgive others and in the humility to see our own faults. As Your Love embraces all humankind, so may ours in Christ our Lord.

THANKSGIVING FOR MOTHERHOOD

IN PREPARATION FOR MOTHERHOOD AND FOR YOUNG MOTHERHOOD

THANKSGIVING FOR MOTHERHOOD

Accept my humble gratitude, most holy Trinity!

Thanks be to the Father, Who manifested unlimited power within me by drawing forth from nothingness another human soul and giving this little one in my care.

Thanks be to the Son, Who has revealed His eternal wisdom within me by fashioning another flame of human life so delicate that it can neither be seen nor heard, so strong that it will live forever.

Thanks be to the Holy Spirit, Who has shown His everlasting love within me by forming another human heart to spend its days on earth in praising God and returning love for love.

Omnipotent Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – receive my humble thanks and my undying devotion.

PRAYER IN THANKSGIVING FOR CONCEPTION

IN PREPARATION FOR MOTHERHOOD AND FOR YOUNG MOTHERHOOD

PRAYER IN THANKSGIVING FOR CONCEPTION

I rejoice in my conception, Lord, and I give thanks that the father of my little one and I have been chosen to share in the work of Your love. In Your great and tender wisdom, You do not wish to multiply the human family by Your power alone. You allow us, Your humble creatures, to share in Your creative might. The soul of our tiny baby will be Your work alone; our baby’s body will be Your work and ours, too, for we are the father and mother.

But, soul and body, this little one will be our companion forever as well as Yours. May this child ever remind us that You and we have worked lovingly side by side.

How can I ever return sufficient thanks for this great honour? I offer humbly my homage and heartfelt devotion.

PRAY FOR THE SOULS IN PURGATORY

HYMN:

Remember those, O Lord,

Who in your peace have died,

Yet may not gain love's high reward

Till love is purified.

With you they faced death's night,

Sealed with your victory sign;

Soon may the splendor of your light

On them for ever shine.

Sweet is their pain, yet deep,

Till perfect love is born;

Their lone night-watch they gladly keep

Before your radiant morn.

Your love is their great joy

Your will their one desire;

As finest gold without alloy

Refine them in love's fire.

For them we humbly pray:

Perfect them in your love

O may we share eternal day

With them in heaven above.

PRAY FOR THE SOULS IN PURGATORY

It is believed that some individuals - after their death and personal judgement by God - find themselves not yet in a state of holiness sufficient to access the fullness of Heaven.

God, the Loving Father of second chances, gives those who require further personal spiritual growth both time and opportunity they need to complete this task.

There is a state between the reality of earth and that of Heaven, which is called Purgatory. This is a place where individuals have the chance to be purified of previous sinful patterns, in order to become fully holy. Thereafter they can enter the Presence of God, to rejoice with their Loving Father forever.

It is possible to pray in intercession for the souls in Purgatory, that their process of holiness be expedited in a swifter manner through the Grace and Benevolence of Almighty God. Let us remember to pray for the souls in Purgatory.

GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

"The Gifts of the Holy Spirit are: -

        Wisdom

            Understanding

                Counsel

                    Fortitude

                        Knowledge

                             Piety

                                 Fear of the Lord

"These give us the seven stages of spiritual development, beginning with the Fear of the Lord. "Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom."

"The Christian receives these gifts, but unless they are cultivated, they remain inoperative. Cultivation requires two activities, attention and appreciation.

"Fear of the Lord understands that the human is creature and God is Creator. "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God." Fear of the Lord brings a sense of proportion to a man's life, and a sense of proportion provides a stable platform from which a person can direct individual activities with a sense of calm purposefulness.

"Piety connotes an attitude of reverence and devotion to the tasks of life - - a sense of loyalty. Loyalty is the necessary basis for co-operation with others. Without co-operation with others there can be no individual development.

"Knowledge is that by which individuals grow. Life is a process of "becoming", and we become what we know. To turn away from a lively curiosity and a search for knowledge is to turn away from life itself. It is possible for us to sentence ourselves to imprisonment within the walls of our own ignorance.

"Fortitude is best appreciated by reflection on the nature of its opposite: fearfulness, or pusillanimity. All of us can find in our memories occasions in which we failed to give effect to our intentions because of vague and irrational fears. We know well how fear, once allowed entry into our minds, feeds on itself, and eventually envelopes and fogs the whole area of our judgement.

"Counsel signifies a willingness to consult before reaching a decision. Commonly, we are well aware of the need to obtain the assent of other people, or to obtain expert opinion on matters outside the range of our experience. However, what we frequently neglect is to consult with our own selves before acting. If an individual's intentions are to be effective, his or her whole being must be engaged in the activity. The heart has reasons that the head often fails to understand. Humanity is compounded of many parts, and must bring together, in amicable concord, all the components of personal make-up if the individual is to live successfully. "A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand."

"Understanding is that which brings light, and we exclaim to ourselves, "now I see." Understanding comes only with patience. It cannot be coerced, one must wait for it. The great enemy of understanding is our impatience that leads us to accept pre-formed conclusions as a substitute for truth. No matter how keen a mind may be, once it has accepted a prejudice, it has closed itself off from the light of truth.

"Wisdom stands at the summit of spiritual development. It is a disposition that leads an individual to judge and evaluate all things in terms of humanity's final goal, personal union with God. Folly, on the other hand, judges and evaluates only in terms of immediate gratification and is necessarily destructive.

"If a man fears the Lord, he will live an upright life. If a man holds fast to innocence, he will find wisdom ready to his embrace, welcoming him as a mother welcomes the son who cherishes her, greeting him like a maiden bride. Long life and good discernment are the bread this mother will provide for him, truth the refreshing draught she will give him to drink.

She will take firm hold of him, so that he never wavers, restrain him, so that he is never disgraced. She will raise him to high repute among his neighbours: she will move him to speak before the assembled people, filling him with the spirit of wisdom and discernment, clothing him in magnificent array. Joy and triumph she has in store for him, and will enrich him with a name that shall never be forgotten."

ST VALENTINE

Casket of St Valentine

A votive candle was lit in remembrance of all Lumiere Charity and Good Shepherd Church readers in the Church in which the casket of St Valentine rests.

The church is a dignified and calm haven in which the devout can pray. Many have flocked in past years to pray at St Valentine's altar.

Beneath the altar lies the burial casket of holy St Valentine. In 1835 the casket was given to Father Spratt by Pope Gregory XVI. The steel casket was brought to Whitefriars' Street Church on 10th November 1936 with great solemnity and celebration, which culminated in solemn High Mass at which Archbishop Murray of Dublin presided.

The statue cast by Irene Broe shows St Valentine as youthful and bare-footed. The martyred Saint is holding a crocus-plant, generally regarded as one of the symbols of spring.

The custom of sending 'Valentines' or love cards, especially among young people originate, in all probability, from the belief that the 14th February - the Saint's feast day - marks the beginning of Spring.

PRAYER FOR THE LOSS OF A CHILD

Dear Lord God,

How can I ever get over the loss of my little one? I know that this pain will never fully leave me. Please help me through this corridor of never-ending heartache. I trust in Your Strength to help me. I don't understand why my little one had to leave me so soon. Please give me the grace to cope with this unbearable loss.

I know my little one is safe with You in heaven. I beg You hold my little one in Your Arms. I know we will meet again because YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST IS THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. I know we will rise again, and that I will be re-united with my little child. I know, too, that we are destined to live joyfully forever in heaven, never to be separated again. But in the meantime, despite my trust, my heart is broken.

Please help me as I grieve my little one.

Amen.

PRAYER FOR ALL BABIES LOST BEFORE BIRTH

Dear Lord,

We pray for all babies lost before birth. As we stand crushed and perplexed before Your Throne, the agony of our child's loss seems too great to bear. Help us carry this cross of premature loss, knowing that our little one is safe in Your Arms.

We pray for all fathers who grieve the loss of their little one. May they receive strength to deal with this agonizing bereavement.

We pray for all mothers who have lost their little child. May they receive strength to deal with this agonizing loss.

We pray for all families who have lost a relative through this tragic loss before birth. May God give them the strength they need to deal with this bereavement.

We pray for all hospital personnel who grieve as they assist a bereaved family through this painful situation. May they receive the strength and grace they need to support the sorrowing while dealing with their own heartache as well.

Almighty God, we know that Your Ways are not our ways, Your Thoughts are not our thoughts. We cannot always understand the sorrows that this life brings us. What we do understand and know, however, is that YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST IS THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE. We know and believe our little one will rise again, and we will be with our little one in everlasting joy in heaven forever.

Amen.

ASCENSION PRAYER SERVICE

Celebrant:   "The reading is taken from the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 1, verses 6 to 11 - THE ASCENSION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST INTO HEAVEN."

Congregation: "May Your Name be praised, O Lord."

So when they had come together, they asked Him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” And when He had said these things, as they were looking on, He was lifted up, and a cloud took Him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, Who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Celebrant:   "Today we celebrate the exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Today we confess that all power and authority are His, and that He lives and makes intercession for us. We gather in His Name and offer our prayers to the Father through Him.

We pray that throughout the world the Church may witness, in the power of the Spirit and with the perseverance of faith, to the victory of Christ."

Congregation: "We pray to the Lord."

Celebrant: "We pray that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened, so that we may perceive and hold fast to the mystery of God's love revealed in Christ."

Congregation: "We pray to the Lord."

Celebrant: "We pray that through the faithful ministry of believers, the Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father, may come upon all."

Congregation: "We pray to the Lord."

Celebrant: "We pray that all who are under undue power, the power of pride or resentment, the power of hatred or fear, may be liberated to the freedom of the living God."

Congregation: "We pray to the Lord."

Celebrant: "We pray that those who have died in Christ may live with Him in the Kingdom of the Father."

Congregation: "We pray to the Lord."

Celebrant: "O Lord our God, You lead us gently to put our hope in the reality of things our earthly eyes do not see. Give us, we pray, eyes of love to perceive that our Lord Jesus, Who has ascended beyond our physical sight, truly lives in our midst by the Spirit He has poured out upon us.

We make our prayer in Jesus' Name,"

Congregation: "Amen."

EASTER SUNDAY SERVICE

Today we relive the glorious events of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The Savior was crucified between two condemned, died and - after three days - rose again. How thankful are we to have such a great Messiah. This last year has been a tomb of darkness and sorrow due to the coronavirus. Yet - despite our sufferings and bereavements - all is not lost. God is ultimately in control despite all the difficulties we may face. The Almighty turned the devastating death of Jesus Christ into glorious triumph. The Savior was resurrected back to life after three days. So our trust must always be in the Lord. After all our difficulties and life challenges we too will be resurrected. So let us keep our faith strong and our love aglow.
Jesus Christ has conquered death.
The Savior has routed sin.
The Messiah has defeated satan.
Christ the Anointed has emptied hell.
The Rabbi has overcome chaos.
The Son of God loves us and works untiringly to bring each one safely into heaven.

Let us pray for all who have ever gone before, for all peoples now, and for all who will ever exist in the future until the Last Day: that they may attain everlasting life with our resurrected Savior forever.

Priest: "The Easter Vigil begins in darkness. The darkness of the tomb is split open as the Light of the world resurrects and pours life-giving light to the whole world.
O God, grant that our hearts may be purified by your beloved Son Jesus Christ.
We offer You our love and praise in honor of so glorious a gift to our world,
Amen."

EASTER VIGIL READING

Mark 16

The Resurrection

16 When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
Jesus Appears to Mary Magdalene
Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons.10 She went and told those who had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it.

Jesus Appears to Two Disciples

12 After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. 13 And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

The Great Commission

14 Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
19 So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.

BAPTISM

If you have been baptized, here quietly renew your promises to Jesus to continue practising holiness in your life, and to be faithful to Him.
If you have been baptized, and fallen away from your faith, why then, just renew your baptismal promises and start all over again.
If you have never been baptized, why not accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior?
He truly is the Son of God, and is waiting for you. Invite joy into your life and accept Him. Seek baptism.
Here is a chapel for accepting Jesus Christ into your life:

LITANY OF THE SAINTS

Priest: "Let us thank God for the holy men and women who have gone before us, showing that it is possible to reach the holiness God desires for us. Let us remember our holy ones."
Congregation: "We remember you, our holy family in heaven."

BLESSING OF THE WATER

If you do not have holy water, pour some water into a bowl. Sprinkle a little salt in it if you have some. Ask the Lord to bless the water and make it holy. Now you have your own holy water!
The priest blesses the water, and sprinkles the congregation with it.
We remember that Jesus is the Water of Life and brings us to holiness through baptism.

WE NOW REJECT OUR ANCIENT ENEMY SATAN

Priest: "Do you reject sin, so as to live in the freedom of God's children?'
Congregation: "I do."
Priest: "Do you reject the glamour of evil, and refuse to be mastered by sin?"
Congregation: "I do."
Priest: "Do you reject satan, father of sin and prince of darkness?"
Congregation: "I do."

WORDS OF COMFORT
"The last year has been a test of faith and hope in God. There is scarcely a household - if, indeed, any - who has not suffered the loss of a loved one to the coronavirus. Many have undergone the pains and illness of the virus.

Yet it is at times like these that faith in God sustains us. Jesus Himself told us: "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it," (Matthew 7:24-27).

Do not lose faith. Do not despair. Do not worry unduly. Pray and put all your problems into the nail pierced Hands of the Savior. Then do your duty as best you can. God will ask no more than that. Also, if you sometimes make a mis-step, remember that God is Mercy and Compassion. He knows we are made from dust, and that to dust we shall return. The Almighty knows, too, that we are struggling from the dust towards the divine. Our eternal destiny is to win our crown in heaven, far from our humble origins in the sand of Paradise. Be confident and place your eternal destiny in the resurrected Savior's Hands. Do what you can as best you can with the facts as you know them at the time. And then: TRUST.

We must trust in Christ. He knows what He is about: the task of your eternal sancification. Trust in Him. Trust His Words in the gospels. Trust His teachings. And then go about your daily tasks quietly.

Our faith has been tested over this past year in many ways. As we emerge from the darkness of the lockdown tomb into the sunlight of the resurrected Christ, let us rebuild our faith. We are the children of God. This means that we have access to all the graces we can ever ask for, IF WE ASK FOR THEM. So ask God for the special graces you need in your life to become a saint. Ask for the graces for your nearest and dearest. Ask for the graces for all in society. Plead for graces from God for sinners who are most in need of His Mercy.

Do you wish to turn to God to bring areas of your life to be washed in the precious Blood of the Savior? If so, perhaps you will find peace and comfort from visiting the Chapel of Repentance.

If you wish to accept Jesus Christ in your life, visit the following prayer chapel,

As we mourn the loss of so many lives during the pandemic, we draw comfort from the fact that we will meet again in the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus won for us the way to eternal life. This Easter let us turn to the Christ of the Resurrection to pray for all our brothers and sisters who have left this world due to the coronavirus. May they rest in peace, Amen."

THE EUCHARIST

Congregation; "Lord Jesus, You are the Bread of Life."

Priest; "At the end of supper, Jesus took the cup. He gave thanks, and gave it to His disciples, saying, "Take, all of you, and drink; this is My Blood of the new covenant, Which is shed for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of Me." '

Congregation; "Lord Jesus, You are the cup of life, the wine blessed for our salvation."

[Receive communion. If you are unable to attend Holy Mass, receive Jesus spiritually within your heart and soul now. Spend some time in prayer. Let us pray for all affected by the Coronavirus].

LORD'S PRAYER
Priest; "Let us now pray the Lord's prayer in the words Jesus gave us."

Priest and Congregation;
'Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come
Thy Will be done
One earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
Our daily bread,
And forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who sin against us,
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen."

PRAYER AND BLESSING
Priest; "Heavenly Father, we praise and thank You for sending us Your only Son, Jesus Christ.
We rejoice in His Resurrection. This Easter the tomb is robbed of death, and is empty!
There is Light in the midst of our darkness!

We have been fed by the Word and given new life in the waters of baptism.
We have been given renewed life in the Eucharist, and receive life from Jesus our Lord.
We ask for Your blessing as we go forth to witness to the world the truth that JESUS CHRIST IS THE RISEN SON OF GOD!"
Congregation; "Amen. ALLELUIA!"
